Designing Your Own Sweater

Have you ever wanted to design your own sweater? Do you have an idea, or perhaps lots of ideas, but don't know where to start? Then this is definitely the class for you!

Wondering what you're going to learn with me? Here's what we'll cover:
• We will briefly discuss all the steps that come before picking up your needles. Every project starts with an idea, and we'll explore how to refine and develop yours.
• We will talk about fibres and yarns to help you better understand the many options available and choose the most suitable materials for your project.
• We will explore motifs, stranded knitting, embroidery, and all those special details you may want to incorporate into your sweater. We'll discuss how to sketch them, develop them, and successfully bring them to life.
• We will look at the most common placements for motifs, embroidery, and stripes, and discuss how they can enhance your design and flatter different body shapes.
• We will talk about software and tools that can support your design process. I'll show you what I personally like to use, while also presenting several alternative options so you can find the approach that works best for you.

Of course, all your questions are welcome and will add value to the workshop. You're encouraged to bring sketches, inspiration, or a project you'd like to develop so we can discuss it together during the class.
