Policies & FAQs
REGISTRATION:
Registration for all of our classes, workshop weekends and events may be done online at yarnsmarts.com. Please provide an email address that you check frequently as we will use it to contact you with important information such as reminders, Zoom links and cancellations.
If you have not received information about classes you registered for, please check the junk or spam folder of your email as our emails may have inadvertently landed there. If you have not received your information please contact us at info@yarnsmarts.com at least 24 hours prior to the class, workshop or event so that we have time to get it to you.
FULL CLASSES AND WAIT LISTS:
If you are interested in registering for a class that is full, please contact us at info@yarnsmarts.com to be put on the waiting list. If a registered student needs to drop a class, we will contact the waiting list to fill the available spot.
TUITION, FEES AND CANCELLATION POLICY:
For all classes and workshop weekends, payment of full tuition is due at time of registration. Tuition may be refunded, less a $25 Cancellation Fee, up to 7 business days prior to the class or workshop, after which time tuition is non-refundable unless the class is cancelled by YarnSmarts or if there is a waiting list and your spot can be filled. If you are unable to attend a class, you must contact us in writing at info@yarnsmarts.com at least 7 business days before the start of the class so that we may attempt to fill your spot. Fees for events that are not classes or workshops may be refunded in full up to 2 business days prior by contacting us in writing at info@yarnsmarts.com.
ZOOM LINKS:
Links for virtual classes are sent out 1-2 days prior to class to the email address used to register for the class. Students who have not received a link must contact us at least 24 hours prior to the start time of the class, or on the Friday before a weekend class. Refunds will not be provided for unreceived links not reported within the period specified, or after the class date.
HOMEWORK AND CLASS MATERIALS:
In order to use class time most efficiently, instructors may require you to do a bit of pre-class homework. Homework and a list of any required class materials can be found on the class page at yarnsmarts.com.
CLASS CANCELLATIONS:
If it should become necessary for YarnSmarts to cancel a class or workshop, you will be notified of the cancellation as soon as possible, and we will make every effort to reschedule. If rescheduling the class is not possible, tuition will be fully refunded.
FAQs
Q: Can I really learn how to knit or crochet on Zoom?
A. Absolutely!! All of the teachers we work with are proficient at teaching virtually and excel at helping students work through all of their questions in the Zoom where it happens!
Q: Why don’t you offer recordings for your classes and events?
A: Because there is no substitute for dynamic, community-inspired live learning experiences, all YarnSmarts classes, workshops and CraftChats are live, one-time only events. Each one is a unique experience that’s powered by the magic we create together in the Zoom where it happens!!
Q: If all of the classes are virtual, why can’t you accommodate larger numbers of students?
A: At YarnSmarts we depend on the expertise of our instructors to determine the maximum number of students per class to ensure that every student has the best learning experience possible. This may mean smaller class sizes so that everyone has the opportunity to get the personalized assistance and attention they need, which is what makes every YarnSmarts class a unique, one-time-only experience.
Q: Who can be a part of the YarnSmarts Community?
A: YarnSmarts is a respectful, diverse and equal community where everyone is welcome. We do not tolerate hate speech, discrimination or harassment of any kind. The interests we share bring us together, and our differences make our community stronger.
