Freaked over Fair Isle? Curious about stranded colorwork techniques? Intimidated by multiple strands of yarn in multiple colors? Not sure how gauge works or how to trap those floats? This is the workshop for you! We’ll cover basic stranded colorwork knitting techniques for English, Continental, and Combination knitters, tackle common issues, proper technique, color theory, how to trap floats, Fair Isle history, and set good colorwork knitting habits. We’ll put everything we learned into practice while knitting up the Nevermore Academy Cowl.

Advanced Beginner – no previous colorwork experience necessary. Ability to knit and purl in the round.
Required Materials
2 Highly Contrasting Shades of Worsted-Weight Yarn (140yds/128m of CC1, 180yds/165m of CC2) – no fuzzy, novelty, or highly variegated fibers
Size US 5 (3.75mm) 24” Circular Knitting Needles; Size US 7 (4.5mm) 24” Circular Knitting Needles
Stitch Markers; Tapestry Needle; Sticky Notes

Homework
(CC1 is white to black gradient and CC2 is maroon in the sample): With smaller circular needle, CO 140 sts using the Longtail CO method with CC2. Join in the round, being careful not to twist. PM for bor. Work [knit 1 rnd, purl 1 rnd) three times. Switch to larger circular needles. Knit 1 rnd.
