You know that lonely crochet hook rattling around at the bottom of your knitting bag—the one you bought for a provisional cast-on you never actually tried? Or the one you grab for picking up stitches even though they still never quite look right? It’s time to rescue those poor neglected hooks and let them finally earn their keep!

You already know a lot about the basics of the fiber arts—how to read a yarn label, count stitches, and wrangle gauge—lets spend a few fun evenings expanding your knitting know-how into crochet.

We’ll start with familiar territory, applying crochet stitches on to a knitted swatch and build up, literally one row at a time, as we learn the chain stitch, single crochet, double crochet, and slip stitch. By the end of the first class you’ll be ready to hook up your very first crochet project: a cheerful set of coasters.

In our second class we’ll use some of the stitches we learned in the first class to build your knitting skills and by the end of the second class, you’ll be ready to tackle your first wearable crochet creation: a cozy pair of crocheted mitts.

Bring your homework and all your supplies—we’ll diving right in together.
