You already have the basics - you know how to read stitches, start a project, measure gauge, and read a yarn label so let’s take these skills in a new direction, knitting. Together let’s explore the mystery behind those two pointy sticks and how they work together to create a different kind of fiber field, knit!

Required Materials
US size 8 - 24" circular needles or 14" straight needles, which ever feels more comfortable to you
A skein of superwash or non superwash worsted weight wool approximately 50 yards of the same type but different color than your swatch, light colors are recommended as they are easier to work with and read
A ruler, scissors, and tapestry needle will also be useful.
Homework
Crochet 1 swatch with light color superwash or non superwash worsted weight wool
consisting of 10 rows of single crochet. Wool is recommended because it tends to be a little more
forgiving than cotton or acrylic and will make our first few stitches a little easier to work. Use a
US 8 hook for your swatch
