From cast on to bind off we will walk through the process of designing a top-down triangular shawl with 2 lace patterns, and a lace edging. We will learn how to transition from one lace pattern to another, how to fit new stitches into the pattern, and everything else needed to create original lace shawl designs. We will also study how increases and decreases impact shaping and bias, as well as the shaping principles of more than 30 different shawl shapes. Students will come away with a complete understanding of shawl shaping, an understanding of how increases and decreases impact fabric and the look of lace, and understand how to transition from one lace pattern to another smoothly.
