Remember how much fun it was to make paper chain garlands in elementary school with your besties? Just because we’re grown up doesn’t mean we can’t rekindle the same level of joy with yarn. Let’s make a pact to meet up every other month to learn a few new stitches and have a few laughs while we work on a stash busting garland to decorate your home for the holidays. Love the idea? Join with friends and make chain links for each other. They are easy to make and easy to mail!

To keep it interesting, we’ll use a different stitch pattern every time we meet up in a simple yarn like a basic worsted weight wool then you can make as many links as you would like using whatever scraps you find while stash diving. You'd be surprised how many you can get done and best of all, use supplies you already have on hand like all those advent and other minis sitting in your project pile.

We'll meet every other month for a knit stitch session from 6:00-7:00pm ET and a crochet stitch session from 7:30-8:30pm ET, with half an hour in between. Feel free to join for one or both and hang out on line with us in between sessions as well!

Don't have time to join us for our meet up? That's ok, you’re welcome to sign up and just knit or crochet along at your own pace.

Required Materials

For each session, I recommend approximately 10 grams of worsted weight yarn, a US 8 needle for knitting and US H/5mm hook for crochet. If you're feeling adventurous, you can use other yarn, I recommend a simple single color to see how the stitches work each month during our class then once you are comfortable with the stitch pattern you can expand your horizons and use different bits from your bag of yarn.
