Dario Tubiana
After completing his humanistic studies in Rome, Belgium, and Israel, Dario graduated in
Creative Knitwear Design from the Accademia di Costume e Moda in Rome. His passion
for construction, texture, and the expressive potential of knitwear led him to create his own
capsule collections, which were presented at Pitti Filati 2019 — two projects purposely
conceived for industrial production and research.
Over the years, Dario has worked across different fields of the knitwear world: from his experience as a designer at United Colors of Benetton (2018–2019) and later at Esprit (2022–2024). Alongside his design work, he regularly collaborates with leading yarn and knitwear companies such as Fibre.co, mYak, Scheepjes, Lang Yarns, Katia Yarns, Mez Cucirini Italy, Prym, Knitting Fever, DMC, and Anchor, as well as with international magazines including The Knitter, Simply Knitting, and Knit Now.
As a teacher, Dario has become a familiar name in the international knitting scene. He has taught workshops and masterclasses at major events such as Vogue Knitting Live (both online and in New York City), Swiss Yarn Festival, Abilmente, Knit Italia, Lugano Creativa, Knit City Vancouver and Toronto, Munich Knits, and Knit with Friends in Porto. In addition to his workshop activity, he has lectured at IED University in Milan and at NABA University, focusing on textile and knitwear design, hand-knitting, and embroidery techniques.
Today, Dario continues to explore the intersections between handcraft and design, always seeking new ways to make knitwear personal, expressive, and contemporary.
